The Forks Advantage
Experience Community Like Never Before
Forks offers the perfect balance of focused learning and natural exploration. You’ll join a tight-knit community while having weekends free to discover the breathtaking Olympic Peninsula – from hiking ancient rainforests to whale watching along the coast.
Gain More Hands-On Experience Than Urban Settings
Our students consistently report getting MORE direct patient interaction and clinical decision-making opportunities than in urban rotations. With fewer resources available, you’ll develop resourcefulness and independence that will make you a standout pharmacist anywhere.
Develop Unique Cultural Competency
Working with tribal communities is a privilege that will set you apart in your career. We provide orientation and ongoing support to help you build respectful relationships and deliver culturally responsive care – skills increasingly valued in today’s diverse healthcare landscape.
We’ve Handled All the Logistics for You
Focus entirely on learning and adventure while we take care of the details. Housing is provided, we handle licensing for out-of-state students, and we even cover a portion of your food expenses. All you need to do is show up ready to learn and explore.

You’ll Thrive Here If You’re:
Engaged and Ready to Make an Impact
This isn’t a rotation where you’ll shadow from the sidelines. We need students who are eager to jump in, ask questions, and take initiative. You’ll be an integral part of our pharmacy team, making real decisions that affect patient care.
Flexible and Adaptable to New Challenges
Rural pharmacy practice requires thinking on your feet. You might encounter situations not covered in textbooks or need to adjust your approach based on limited resources. If you see challenges as opportunities to grow rather than obstacles, you’ll excel here.
Autonomous and Self-Directed
While we provide guidance and support, we value students who can work independently and take ownership of their learning. You’ll have the freedom to explore areas of pharmacy that interest you most and develop projects based on your passions.
Curious About Independent Pharmacy
Ever wondered what it takes to run your own pharmacy? You’ll see firsthand how inventory management, billing, customer service, and clinical services all work together in an independent setting.

Ready for a Pharmacy Experience That Goes Beyond the Classroom?
Join the pharmacy students who’ve discovered that Forks offers the perfect combination of professional growth and personal adventure.

When I first came to Forks, I came committed to maintaining quality pharmacy care in small Washington communities. I also saw an opportunity to create a place where pharmacy students could gain real-world skills.
We’ve hosted many of students who arrived nervous about rural pharmacy practice and left with skills they never could have developed in a traditional rotation. Many have told us it was the most valuable experience of their pharmacy education.
I believe that we’re not just offering a rotation, we’re offering a chance to see what pharmacy practice can be when it’s truly community-focused. I hope you’ll reach out if this sounds like a good fit for you.
